Episode 22-Obama Shows Up

After a recent move across the country we are back.  Matt and I have frequently disagreed about our opinions on President Obama, but in the last two weeks we have found some common ground.  Obama is clearly in the sunset of his presidency and is finally exhibiting the traits we expected all along.  On this episode we discuss his NAACP speech and the nuclear deal with Iran, among  other topics.

Enjoy!

Episode 20- Color Me Bad

We hoped last week would be the only time we covered Rachel Dolezal on the podcast, but that proved to be wishful thinking.  In this episode we vent some  of our frustration on Dolezal’s refusal to admit she is not black.  Also, we squeezed in quite a few news stories on a recent government data breach, another pool incident with cops, and a few movie and comic reveals.

Episode 18 – Bad Parenting

This episode runs slightly longer, to make up for the missed week.  We have a trio of stories that highlight bad parenting, that were in the press last week.  Also, there are two good news stories about the Pittsburgh Courier and a high school valedictorian who beat all odds to graduate.

For the geeks, we talk about the latest Star Wars comic bombshell and what it could mean for the movie that comes out at the end of the year.

Episode 17 – Bikers Gone Wild

This week we talk about the outlaw biker shoot out in Texas.  There were nine deaths, eighteen arrests, and one restaurant closure.  Matt and I contrast the police response to armed, dangerous bikers and unarmed black men, who were accosted for minor crimes.

Also, we add a little science and nature talk about flying spiders and lab grown skin.  The episode is rounded out with our impressions of the new DC Legends of Tomorrow show.

Episode 13 – Make it Stop!

I think episode 13 is one of our best yet.  Congress finally passed a significant bill, after four years of inaction and we discuss our opinions on the matter.  Later, we look at the case surrounding the death of Eric Harris.  A reserve deputy accidentally killed Harris during a sting.

Our entertainment section covers the new Rocky movie and the excellent Daredevil show on Netflix.

Episode 7 – Cuba Libre

This was one of our best episodes yet.  Matt and I talk about the thawing relations between America and Cuba.  Also, we cover the decision to vacate arrests warrants from 1962, for the “Friendship Nine.”

On a lighter note, we give our impressions on the new Fantastic Four movie, as we pick apart the new trailer.
